Decoder installation

New decoder? Installed and activated in one visit

Bought a new decoder — or been given one with your subscription? We connect it to your existing dish, verify the LNB is the right type for it, run the channel scan, pair the remote and activate it on your account before we leave.

If the new decoder needs a different LNB (an Explora, for example, needs a smart LNB), we’ll check your dish first and quote for exactly what needs to change — usually far less than a new installation.

Smart features

Streaming, apps and recordings — connected

Modern decoders are half satellite receiver, half streaming box. We connect your Explora to your home Wi-Fi or router, set up the streaming apps and catch-up services, and make sure recordings work the way you expect.

Quick answers

Decoder questions

Often, yes. Many freezes and boot loops are software or overheating issues we can resolve on site. If the hardware itself has failed and a replacement makes more financial sense, we'll tell you before you spend anything.

Either works. We can supply decoders on request, or install one you've already bought — we'll just check it's the right spec for your dish and LNB before we start.

Yes — the Explora needs a smart LNB (or a smart switch on older dishes) to access all its tuners for recording while you watch. We'll check your current setup and quote for exactly what needs to change.
